At Perspectives Behavior Consulting, LLC, I am guided by a set of core values that define who I am and how I approach environmental analysis and identifying equitable support structures for clients, their families, and any organizations I have the privilege of supporting. My commitment to these values is unwavering, and they serve as the foundation for every aspect of my work.
1. Neurodiversity Affirmation:
I wholeheartedly believe in the inherent value and diversity of neurodivergent experiences. My practice is grounded in the principle that neurodivergent traits and emotions are valid and valuable in their own right. I celebrate the richness of neurodiversity and affirm the unique perspectives of each individual I serve.
2. Trauma-Informed Care:
Our approach is rooted in trauma-informed and assumed care principles. I assume a trauma background and approach every interaction with sensitivity, compassion, and a deep understanding of the potential impact of trauma. I prioritize creating safe and supportive environments that promote healing and well-being.
3. Gentle and Person-Centered Approaches:
I believe in empowering individuals to take the lead in their journeys. My child-led and gentle parenting approaches to education and developmental growth respect and celebrate the individuality of each child. My work is person-centered, valuing the unique needs, preferences, and lived experiences of every individual we support.
4. Restraint and Seclusion-Free Practices:
In crisis management, I adhere to a restraint and seclusion-free approach. My practices prioritize safety and dignity, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need without harm. Compassion and gentle methods guide my crisis management strategies.
5. Anti-Ableism and Anti-Oppressive Work:
I am dedicated to challenging ableism and advocating for social justice in all my endeavors. I actively work towards a more inclusive and equitable world for neurodivergent individuals and our communities. My commitment to dismantling ableist norms is a driving force behind my work. This commitment extends to standing and acting in solidarity with any people or population that is oppressed. This includes but is not limited to, Black Americans, Palestinians, the Uyeger people in China, Sudanese, Congolese, and Haitians. I stand with the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities. As someone who cares deeply for my own disabled communities, I stand against genocide.
6. Continuous Learning and Adaptation:
I value ongoing learning and feedback. I actively seek opportunities to enhance the support I provide by collaborating with professionals and staying open to new insights. I am committed to adapting and refining my approaches to better meet the evolving needs of the individuals and organizations I serve.
7. Centering Lived Experience:
In all my services, I strive to center the lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals. I do not conform to neuro-normative standards but instead prioritize understanding and accommodating neurodivergent perspectives. I create environments and strategies that empower and celebrate neurodiversity.
